Melissa –  Salon Owner

Melissa founded Hills Grooming in 2012 and has grown it from a small one-person salon into one of Sydney’s busiest and most trusted pet grooming destinations. Backed by many years of experience as a Veterinary Nurse, she brings a strong foundation in animal welfare and care to everything she does. Melissa worked in local veterinary hospitals straight out of school, and her hands-on knowledge is a cornerstone of the salon’s reputation for compassionate, professional service.

In 2023, Melissa expanded the business, moving Hills Grooming from Baulkham Hills to a larger space in Bella Vista. This exciting new chapter included the launch of Georgie’s Play Park, a doggy day care named after her beloved Cavalier, Georgie. The space now combines high-quality grooming with a safe, fun, and enriching environment for dogs to play and socialise.

When she’s not leading the team or overseeing the salon, Melissa is busy managing home life with her children and her own furry family. Her passion for animals, strong leadership, and unwavering commitment to quality care continue to shape the heart and soul of Hills Grooming.

Bel – Salon Manager and Dog Stylist

Bel began her grooming career in 2011, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a Certificate III in Animal Care. With a deep passion for the art of grooming, she takes pride in highlighting each dog’s unique charm through her creative and thoughtful grooming techniques.
Bel has a soft spot for Border Collies, Pomeranians, and Chihuahuas—and it shows in her work. Her eye for detail and gentle approach make her especially popular with clients who want their pups to look their absolute best while feeling relaxed and cared for.
Outside the salon, Bel is a talented artist and embroiderer, often drawing inspiration from her furry friends. She shares her home with Milo, a familiar face to many of our clients—frequently spotted napping or on the lookout for treats in Georgie’s Play Park.
Bel’s creativity, compassion, and commitment make her a much-loved member of our team, and her presence brings warmth and personality to everything she does.

Sheree – dog stylist

Sheree has been a valued member of the Hills Grooming team since 2015 and is one of our most experienced and versatile groomers. An all-rounder with exceptional skills in breed-specific grooming, Sheree’s expertise particularly shines with Poodles and Cocker Spaniels.

She holds a Certificate II in Animal Studies and has completed the Fear Free Certification Program, equipping her with a deeper understanding of animal behaviour and stress-free handling techniques. Her calm, compassionate approach ensures pets feel safe and comfortable throughout their grooming experience.

A passionate animal lover and proud local resident, Sheree brings warmth and dedication to every appointment. When she’s not in the salon, she enjoys researching and planning her next overseas adventure.

Liz – dog and cat stylist

Liz has been a dedicated member of the Hills Grooming team and Georgie’s Play Park since 2018, bringing with her a wealth of experience in both dog and cat grooming. Her career in animal care began in 2013 as a dog walker and pet sitter, which sparked a deep passion that led her to study veterinary nursing at a clinic on the Northern Beaches. From there, Liz transitioned into grooming, where she now excels in caring for dogs, cats, and even the occasional pocket pet.
Known for her vibrant personality and love of all things furry, Liz thrives on building strong connections with clients and their pets. She’s especially skilled with small breeds like Maltese, Shih Tzus, and Cavaliers, and is regularly requested for her “wash and wear” summer styles and cosy winter clips—tailored perfectly to each pet’s needs.

Outside of work, Liz’s creativity shines through in her hobbies. She enjoys cooking, crocheting, and expressing herself through bold, colourful hair—often seen sporting vibrant shades of green or purple.
Liz’s dedication, experience, and upbeat energy make her a truly valued member of the Hills Grooming team. Her blend of technical skill and heartfelt care ensures every pet leaves the salon looking and feeling their best.

Heidi – dog stylist

Heidi has been a dedicated member of the pet industry since 2006 and has worked alongside Melissa from the very beginning of her career. She started as an animal attendant at a local veterinary hospital, where her passion for pet grooming was first sparked.

Heidi joined Hills Grooming in 2013 and has become a trusted senior stylist known for her attention to detail and gentle approach. She’s especially sought after for her signature “teddy style” grooms and has a true love for grooming all types of “oodles.” She also receives frequent requests for thorough bathing and de-shedding services, particularly for breeds like Labradors and Huskies.

When she’s not in the salon, Heidi enjoys spending quality time with her three sons, daughter, cats, and birds. Her calm, caring nature and years of experience make her a favourite among clients and pets alike.

Saki – dog stylist

Saki began her grooming journey in her hometown of Hong Kong, where she completed her formal training in 2017. Since moving to Australia, she has continued to develop her skills and has been working as a professional groomer since 2019. We were thrilled to welcome her to the Hills Grooming team in 2023.

Saki is known for her gentle, calming approach especially with anxious or nervous dogs. Her patience and quiet confidence make her a favourite with pets who need a little extra reassurance. She’s particularly passionate about grooming Pomeranians and Cavoodles, where her attention to detail and love for the breeds truly shine.

Outside the salon, Saki enjoys spending time with her family and staying active with regular sessions at the gym. Her dedication, steady presence, and warm personality make her an invaluable member of our team.

Vicky – pet stylist

Vicky began her grooming career in 2010 at a private grooming school in China, where she developed strong foundational skills and a love for working with animals. She continued her professional journey in Australia from 2017 and became part of the Hills Grooming team in 2023.

With a calm, focused approach, Vicky is especially passionate about grooming Cavoodles and Poodles. Her precision and eye for style make her a trusted choice for clients who want their dogs looking their very best.

When she’s not in the salon, Vicky enjoys dancing with her weekend dance group and cherishes time with her husband, children, and beloved show Schnauzers.

Jacqui – dog stylist

Jacqui began her grooming career in 2011 and joined the Hills Grooming team in 2024, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a calm, confident presence. She holds a Certificate IV in Dog Training and Behaviour from the Delta Society, giving her a deeper understanding of canine behaviour—especially useful when working with more sensitive or energetic dogs.

Jacqui’s favourite breed to groom is the Border Collie, a reflection of her appreciation for both beauty and intelligence in dogs. At home, she shares her life with her much-loved dog, Mouse, a true character and frequent source of inspiration.

Outside of work, Jacqui enjoys painting, drawing, and tackling complex puzzles. She also holds a degree in Theatre, which adds to her creative flair and thoughtful approach to her work.
Jacqui’s blend of experience, behavioural knowledge, and creative energy makes her a valued asset to our grooming team.

Annabella (Bella) – Doggy Day Care – Play Park Attendant

Bella has been part of the Hills Grooming & Georgie’s Play Park family since 2024. She began as an Animal Attendant and recently stepped into her role as our Play Park/Doggy Day Care Attendant.

Kind, caring, and full of positive energy, Bella loves spending her days with our furry visitors, making sure every pup feels safe, happy, and included.

Bella also has an impressive background in junior dog handling, earning multiple 1st place awards through the Finnish Lapphund Club of NSW, Penrith Kennel & Obedience Club Inc, and Sutherland Shire. Her experience gives her a great understanding of dog behaviour and handling skills.

When she’s not caring for pups, Bella has been involved in Girl Guides, community fundraising, and performing arts — building the confidence and teamwork skills she brings to our team every day.
